The Telescope & The Sky Complete Collections Bundle
The complete collection to chronicle the beginnings of Sky and Telescope magazine.This bundle collection includes both The Telescope Digital Collection 1933-1941 DVD and The Sky Digital Collection 1936-1941 DVD. 108 issues of astronomy throughout the 21st century. Sky & Telescope magazine began as the union of two magazines published during the 1930s and early 40s: The Sky and The Telescope. The Telescope was founded at Perkins Observatory near Columbus, Ohio, in 1931. This magazine featured mostly professional astronomers writing about the cutting-edge scientific topics of their era for a popular audience. The Telescope moved to the Harvard College Observatory in 1934. The Sky was founded at the Hayden Planetarium in New York City, and the first issue was printed in 1935. It concentrated on astronomical information for the amateurs of the day: observing, telescope making, star lore, and more, in ways that now look both strange and familiar. It became an independent publication under S&T founder Charles Federer in 1939. The early years of S&T look a lot like the later issues of The Sky.
