Message from Sky & Telescope

Hello!

Welcome to the new Sky & Telescope web store. We’ve been offline since August but are thrilled to be back up and running.

Transitioning our web infrastructure from the previous owner proved to be much harder and more complicated than we imagined. We apologize to each and every one of you for this delay, but we took our time to make sure everything would work correctly so that your browsing and purchasing experience is as easy as possible. We may not be Amazon, but our goal is to bring you unique products as easily and quickly as possible. We view ourselves as part of the community we serve, so getting things right is important.

As you know, the Sky & Telescope team works hard to bring interesting, valuable, and fun products to you, our community of astronomy enthusiasts. In the coming months we will roll out some new items as we get them developed and produced (like the eagerly anticipated eclipse-track Earth globe — it’s awesome!). If you have ideas about other items you might like us to produce or carry, let us know. Although we can’t promise to do everything, we’ll carefully review any ideas we receive.

Thanks for your ongoing support of Sky & Telescope!

Globes

Our editors have spent years working with space scientists at NASA and the U.S. Geological Survey to create an exclusive and unprecedented series of planetary globes that you can own.

S&T offers 12-inch globes of all four inner planets — Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. Their exquisite detail lets you explore famous features like Earth’s Tibetan Plateau or the giant Martian canyon system Valles Marineris in their “big picture” context. Our Moon globe, assembled from more than 15,000 images and bristling with 850 feature names, lets you go on journeys of discovery across the familiar nearside and the always-hidden farside from the comfort of your favorite chair.  In addition, the Moon and Mars globes come in versions that show each world as it appears naturally and also with color-coded topography that accentuates mountains, valleys, and craters.

New to the S&T globe family are 6-inch spheres that portray the Earth, Moon, Mars, and Pluto! These smaller, more affordable globes are perfect for classroom use or for that special future astronaut in your life. Created with the same care and detail as our larger offerings, the 6-inch globes look attractive on your desk and make a fine collection for your bookcase.
